Stepping Out in Faith and Letting God Lead
“Everything I have accomplished has been done by the Lord Jesus and not by me.”
That statement defines the life and ministry of Chuck Lobb. Again and again, Chuck has seen God plant an idea, call for obedience, and then expand that obedience into something far greater than he could have imagined. His role, as he humbly shares, is simply to step out in faith, put action behind prayer, and allow God to do what only He can do.
Through youth outreach, men’s ministry, and intentional prayer, Chuck’s story is a powerful example of faith-based service in action.
Faith-Led Beginnings in Youth Ministry
The first ministry God placed on Chuck’s heart was an after-school outreach for middle school students. The vision was simple: open the church gym, invite students from the neighborhood, and give them a safe place to belong. Kids came to play basketball, soccer, and volleyball, enjoyed snacks and drinks, and built relationships with caring adults.
For the first few years, the focus was on connection. As trust grew, God opened the door for something deeper. A devotional time was added, allowing students to hear the gospel and engage with God’s Word.
Now in its 14th year, this after-school ministry has touched thousands of middle school students, with weekly attendance averaging 80 to 90 kids. What began as a simple idea has evolved into a long-standing community outreach that continues to plant seeds of faith in the next generation.
Building Men’s Ministry Through Obedience
His involvement inspired Chuck’s second God-given idea with Men Serving God. After attending several MSG events, a question stirred in his heart.
“Why can’t we do this in Irving?”
Chuck began praying about launching a men’s ministry in the Las Colinas area of North Irving, designed for men to gather before work, meet in a local restaurant, share coffee, build brotherhood, and grow spiritually together.
Like many faith-led initiatives, the beginning was small. Three or four men showed up at first. But through consistent prayer, faith, and commitment, the ministry grew steadily. Today, the group averages 18 to 20 men and has expanded to include branch groups in Granbury and Lubbock.
This men’s ministry continues to encourage Christian men to live with purpose, accountability, and a heart for service.
The Power of Prayer-Walking
One of the most defining aspects of Chuck’s ministry journey is his commitment to prayer-walking. When God gives him an idea, Chuck doesn’t stay seated. He walks the physical spaces connected to the calling, gyms, restaurants, and neighborhoods, praying as he moves.
Chuck believes that prayer, combined with action, reflects obedience and trust. It shows God’s willingness to participate in the work, not just think about it. He is convinced the Lord honors that posture of faith.
Today, Chuck is prayer-walking a Muslim mosque in Irving with a friend, asking God to reveal Himself to the Muslim community in a saving way. It is an act rooted in humility, compassion, and a desire to see lives transformed by Christ.
From Ideas to Kingdom Impact
Chuck is quick to remind others that God-given ideas remain only ideas until faith, prayer, and effort are applied. When those three elements come together, he has learned a powerful lesson.
“Get out of the way and let God take over.”
Through obedience, Chuck has witnessed God expand small beginnings into lasting ministries that continue to grow His Kingdom and bless countless lives.
Serving God Through Faith and Action
One Scripture continues to anchor Chuck’s calling, a verse he first heard at a Men Serving God breakfast and now uses as a foundation for every ministry he serves.
“We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)
Chuck Lobb’s story reminds us that God is still calling men to step forward, trust Him fully, and take action. When men respond with faith and obedience, God takes care of the rest.
