From Corporate Goals to Kingdom Impact
Name: Jim Labenz
Occupation: President and Co-Founder of DigitCom, Inc.
For much of his life, Jim Labenz had his eyes on the corporate ladder. With a background in aviation and transportation, he worked toward the kind of success the world celebrates. In the mid-90s, he pivoted into the wireless construction industry, helping build the networks that power today’s mobile devices. His plan was clear: retire early, travel with his wife, and enjoy the fruit of his labor.
But God had a different plan. Over the past several years, Jim has felt the Lord tugging on his heart—calling him away from self-focused goals and toward a life of serving Him and others.
Mission trips to Germany and Poland with his family and YoungLife Europe became eye-opening experiences, planting seeds of service and faith. Today, those seeds have grown into a calling to focus more intentionally on his own community of Arlington, Texas. Through Men Serving God, Jim has found purpose, joy, and a deeper connection by linking arms with local nonprofits and fellow believers.

Rooted in Faith, Grounded in Family
Jim and his wife are the proud parents of two grown children and three grandchildren. Their son Nathan followed a calling into ministry after college, serving with YoungLife in Plano before moving with his wife Lauren and son Oliver to Nacogdoches. Their daughter Veronica and her husband Todd live in Florida, where Todd works with SpaceX and raises their two children, Landry and Emmie.
Although their children and grandchildren live out of town, Jim’s heart for investing in the next generation remains strong. He pours into youth, students, and young families whenever he can.
Jim was raised in Omaha, Nebraska, and has five siblings who still live there. He moved to Arlington in 1996 and has become deeply rooted in the community. He is a longtime member of Fielder Church and has faithfully served as a group leader with Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for 15 years.
Called to Serve
Jim’s journey into service began years ago when his son Nathan was in elementary school. Volunteering with the Dad’s Club at Pope Elementary was a turning point. He discovered the joy of giving back and was honored with the Texas Lifetime PTA Membership Award for his impact. Around the same time, he served on the Arlington YoungLife Committee and joined students on unforgettable camp trips—experiences he describes as life-changing.
That early spark of service has carried into his present work. Today, Jim is a board member of Men Serving God, where he leads Team Star, a servant team dedicated to supporting Miracle League athletes at Randol Mill Park. He has also become deeply engaged with other nonprofit partners across Arlington.

Jim regularly serves with:
- International Students at UTA – Helping with the yearly furniture drive for new students.
- Mended Hearts – Encouraging patients facing cardiovascular disease.
- The Salvation Army – Serving as a member of the Arlington Advisory Council.
- Arlington Charities – Assisting with food drives throughout the year.
Through these opportunities, Jim has experienced firsthand the joy of prioritizing service. “The more I prioritize my time and serve others in our community, the more Joy I feel is poured into my heart,” he shares.
Everyday Faithfulness
In addition to leading with MSG, Jim participates in bi-monthly breakfasts that connect men to service opportunities and nonprofit partners. These gatherings have opened his eyes to the breadth of ministries in Arlington and given him a deeper love for the city.
Whether coaching, mentoring, or handing out food boxes, Jim approaches each opportunity as a chance to reflect Christ’s love. He calls it “a peek of Heaven” when joy flows from simple acts of service.
The Heart Behind the Work
“There is a feeling that is indescribable in my heart when I take the time to help serve others the way God calls me to serve. Knowing that this feeling is coming from my Father gives me a peek at the joy of Heaven when I’m called home.
Men Serving God has given me the resources and opportunities to experience that pure Joy that only our eternal Father can give. I encourage every man to pick a local nonprofit organization and give it a shot. You will be blessed.”

A Legacy of Service
From corporate ambitions to community impact, Jim Labenz has directed his life’s energy toward service. His story reminds us that success is not measured in titles or achievements, but in the eternal impact made when men live with purpose, humility, and faith.
