Men Serving God Service Council

In January the Men Serving God Board of Directors met to develop its strategic plan for the future of the organization. MSG for the past 3 years has been carrying out its mission of encouraging and motivating men to serve God in their homes, churches, and community through our Annual Free BBQ and bi-monthly breakfasts.

The strategic planning session led us to take an even more intentional approach to lead men to serve God in our community. MSG has developed partnerships with 25 non-profit agencies in the community, all of whom are doing much-needed work to serve the needs of our residents. We have been sending out email blasts to let the men in our database know of volunteer needs our agency partners required.

The Service Council

We are forming two man teams to meet with an agency partner to discuss with them how Men Serving God can help them in their mission. The goal will be to develop special projects for these agencies. Once the projects are identified, the teams will reach out to men in our database with how they can serve.

As a part of our registration process for last year’s BBQ we began gathering skills and interests of our men. Examples would be those who do carpentry, plumbing, cooking, computer work, landscaping etc. The Service Council teams can then reach out for specific skills and interests.

The ultimate goal is Men Serving God making an even greater difference in our community while glorifying God.

As we work on projects we know we will have the opportunity to share the Gospel with those we serve.

How can YOU participate?

Become a member of a Service Council Team.

You would work with a partner and a board member and one of our agency partners to put together projects with that agency. If this is of interest to you, please email Jim Reeder at jim@menservinggod.org.

Responding to requests from our Service Council teams to participate in a much-needed project of one of our agency partners

A team will be reaching out to our database with specific skills and interests. When that is done, you will be able to respond to the Service Council Team Leader to help.

Any questions you may have regarding the new Service Council initiative please contact Jerry McCullough at jerry@menservinggod.org, Ray Biery at ray@menservinggod.org, or Jim Reeder at jim@menservinggod.org.
