Using Gifts for God’s Glory
Phillip Wambsganss is a man who sees every part of life as an opportunity to serve. From his family to his work, from church life to community leadership, Phillip’s heart is centered on using the gifts, talents, and resources God has given him for His glory.
Phillip has been married to his wife, Tiffani, for 32 years. Together, they have three children. Two are currently in college, and one is married and recently welcomed a baby girl into the family. That new role has given Phillip a new name he proudly carries, Pops.
His wife and family are among his greatest joys and treasures. Phillip is quick to give thanks to God for the love, satisfaction, and purpose his family brings to his life.
Serving Through Work and Leadership
During the work week, Phillip serves as the President of Higher Education Servicing Corporation and the Executive Director of the North Texas Higher Education Authority, Inc. Both organizations work together to help Texans pursue affordable access to college and career opportunities.
Through low-cost private education loans, free college access services, and scholarship support, these organizations help remove barriers for students and families planning for the future. For Phillip, this work is more than a career. It is a calling to lead, serve, and use his professional gifts to bless others.
His role has given him many opportunities to support students, encourage families, and help create pathways toward education and opportunity. Through it all, Phillip recognizes that God has used his career as a place of service and stewardship.
Faith, Family, and Church
Away from work, Phillip enjoys serving his family, church, and community. For the past year, he and Tiffani have attended Creekwood Church in Mansfield. They love their church and pastor, whom they have known for several years.
Phillip volunteers at the church whenever he can, and he and Tiffani are looking forward to joining a LifeGroup this fall. Their desire is to better connect, grow in faith, and continue serving alongside others in their church family.
For Phillip, faith is not something separated from daily life. It shapes the way he leads at work, loves his family, serves the church, and engages with the community around him.
Serving the Community
Phillip is also deeply involved in local service. He serves on the Men Serving God Board and the Arlington Mansfield Salvation Army Advisory Council. Both organizations have given him opportunities to serve alongside leaders who share a heart for God and a desire to meet real needs in the community.
Phillip describes these boards and service organizations as amazing groups led by true servants. He is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside godly leaders who give their time, wisdom, and energy to help others.
Through Men Serving God and the Salvation Army, Phillip continues to see the value of men stepping forward to serve with humility, consistency, and purpose.
Brotherhood Through the Mavs Team
One of the most meaningful parts of Phillip’s involvement with Men Serving God is being a part of the Mavs Team. The Mavs Team is a small group of men within MSG who are committed to serving together, growing in faith, and holding one another accountable.
The group of 12 men shares a morning devotional, meets about once a month for breakfast and fellowship, and serves together in the community through MSG service projects. For Phillip, this group has become a true blessing.
He values the brotherhood, encouragement, and accountability that come from walking alongside men who are committed to growing spiritually and serving faithfully. The Mavs Team reflects the heart of Men Serving God, men building one another up while putting faith into action.
A Life of Gratitude and Purpose
As Phillip reflects on his life, gratitude is at the center. He recognizes that God has been good to him and his family, blessing them far beyond what he feels he deserves.
His desire is simple and sincere: to bless God by using his gifts, talents, and resources for His glory.
